Allegations against foster carers

You are expected to provide a high standard of care for the children you look after.

Being able to promote positive behaviour and manage children's behaviour well is central to the quality of care provided in any foster home. Negative behaviour should usually be managed through:

  • building positive relationships with children
  • diffusing difficult situations
  • avoiding situations escalating.
